Okay, so many ask what do I actually eat?
I have to remind myself that when I first started this journey, that I literally had no taste for real food anymore. My body and brain had been so used to eating chemically infused foods, that my brain only craved pasta, bread, sweet treats, cereal, granola, McDonald's fish filet, French fries, brownies, cookies, soda, juice, ice cream, recess, Chinese food, cake macaroni and cheese. and potato chips! . I never felt satisfied and only would crave more and more! I was always hungry and snacking.
These Food cravings, at the end of the day, all turn into sugar or contain actual sugar. Sugar is highly addictive! Isn't it sick that food is viewed as a way to make money and not as a means for fuel and nourishment!
When you get clean of Sugar and gluten you will see how grocery stores are Filled with what I view as 90% sugar! Even most organic foods in stores in fact, contain sugar. Wow, and to add to the mess, wheat has been processed so much and chemically altered so that it reacts just like sugar! Isn't it funny how you want to eat the whole cake or 6 pieces of garlic buttery delicious bread? Or 2 helpings of pasta? lol.
The flour you are eating and don't want to give up is a double dose of lethal! it turns into sugar and contains gluten.
I believe gluten is damaging to the body because of how processed the flour is. It is not in its original state. I believe natural wheat soaked and sprouting are tolerable in the body.
So when we hear sugar, it doesn't just mean that white grainy stuff. It is also all carbs! Bananas contain carbs, and they too turn into sugar, but I believe after you have broke the addiction and your body is healthy again it can handle it. So, if you look at your diet, ask yourself how much sugar am I actually eating verse how much actual real food am i eating? I know when i look back now, I see basically only sugar as my diet the last so many Years. It is no wonder my body was in such poor shape.
I think it would be most beneficial for the body to limit as much toxic chemicals, sugar, gluten and genetically modified food as possible for optimal health and healing. But obviously this isn't ideal right off the bat! I am 4 months in and could only go so long before I would cave on the cravings but by now I am 90% clean eating. I feel so great!
So don't overwhelm yourselves!
You can't be perfect. But take each meal one at a time and ask yourself if what your eating is nourishing and going to help your goal for healing? Maybe you have one specific area that you need healing in. I focused on the one that effected my quality of life most! My hypoglycemia was hindering my quality at life most, so I focused on the healing of that and then all of the other smaller problems got better along the way encouraging me more and more to continue!
Okay, so!
First, don't buy anymore sugar! That was number one on our list to start this journey! It's hard, but if you are like me and are home a lot, then you have all the means for clean eating.
I threw out all food that was not a raw whole food! If it contained gluten or sugar or was a carbohydrate or processed. I started switching things like... Sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes. We switched to raw milk from the clean farm close to us. We switched to free ranged eggs that the birds actually were fed natural bugs and grass. We started trying to buy meat from the local farmer that animals were mostly grass fed. And we try to grow as much as we can and only buy what the local farmer grows with honesty and organically. I shop once a week.
I try and plan out meals in advance.
So one turkey or chicken from a clean farm would be a few meals for the week, we get fresh meat when it's first cooked served with fresh veggies, then we put some meat away for white chilli. This is our favorite, we eat it with fresh cilantro, sour cream, cheese, fresh broth from soaking the bones for a few days. The bones break down and literally turn into liquid with the broth! It contains bone marrow and several minerals that are super nourishing!
We also like to take the chicken or turkey meat and make fresh BBQ sauce baked over the top of the meat with cheese and olives and fried up mushroom and onion!
We try to eat a few eggs of some sort every morning! They are amazing for us! I change it up. Some mornings we eat fried eggs with a lil butter or coconut oil, a piece of fried scrapple and some berries and fresh yogurt from the farm with honey added and nothing else!
I try and incorporate chai seeds with our food. Sometimes we will make smoothies with chai seeds, fresh aloe, some enzymes and berries...added raw milk and or yogurt.
We try and eat a fresh loaded with greens salad every day as well. Greens go with meat! Meat is acidic and should be eaten with plenty of water and greens for balance!
So for breakfast we had... An egg dish I love making!
I fry up in our iron skillet some butter, fresh mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, cilantro, sausage, chai seeds, green peppers. This pretty much works with anything you like. Some mornings left over taco meat is good in it for a zesty taco egg dish topped with some sour cream and fresh homemade salsa..and fresh avocado on the side. Anyway, you fry up all your yummy choices and then leave it all in the pan with the good what i call..PAN JUICE! Pour over the top of all of the yummy ggs and milk mixture! I let it cook for about 5 minutes without stirring and then i stick the whole iron skillet with egg in it in the oven for 20 minutes or so depending on how much you make on 375. I add cheese to the top! It is so good served with your favorite natural hott sauce, or some fresh tomatoes. Right now our tomatoes are canned from last years crop and i make it into a salsa type sauce. It is delicious and nutricious on the eggs. It is even good on your fried plain eggs :)
for lunch...
fried up in butter in a cast iron skillet, fresh steak from the mostly organic meat shop down our street...
Topped with fresh garlic, fried up mushrooms and onions and paired with a green salad with homemade dressing with fresh herbs!
The salad was cucumbers, green peppers, avocado, spinach and chai seeds.
And we washed it all down with fresh wedges of lemon and lime in our water, :)
For dinner
White turkey chilli and desert was
Fried bananas with honey in coconut oil :)
We drink a glass of milk in between meals. But clean raw milk. Store milk contains lethal properties in the body such as hormones-steroids, antibiotics, sugar, if not added it is from the all the grain the cow was fed and no grass! And to top it off the amazing bacteria has been taken out by pasteurizing it...that bacteria in the raw milk is great for our digestive systems!
We like to snack on fresh yogurt from the farm plain or with cinnamon, or even with berries!
I like to make fresh hummus with pureed chick peas, tahini, fresh garlic, olive oil and artichoke hearts. :) It is good dipped with cucumber slices, carrots, celery...it is also good on some of the meat I make etc.
It was suggested to me that when cleaning up the body and gut you should try and eat as basic as possible. Too much and your body might not be able to handle it if you are used to such bad quality food. If you have food allergies it has been found in my research that it is from gluten intolerance. Your body actually cant handle actual food anymore! So sad, I pray for healing for anyone who struggles with this. If you have a food sensitivity to any whole natural food, it most of the time can be healed by not eating gluten anymore! So, try and eat like one or two things in each meal. We do not need to eat 5 course meals. The body becomes fully satisfied with an avocado and some plain eggs. Etc. Boiling eggs are great too, you can grab one when needing a quick protein boost. Our bodies need a ton of protein. Wether you get it from meat or elsewhere.
Good luck. I would love to hear your takes on all of this from your own personal research and or experiences!
